This Sparkman & Stephens Tartan 40 incorporates an innovative keel/centerboard arrangement. And yet she is a distinguished performer, both upwind and down, Her sailing manners and honest speed are vintage Tartan. The cockpit is 9'3" long with a sail locker to port and two huge lazarettes aft of the pedestal. Coaming are wide and extremely comfortable to sit on. All deck surfaces have molded in non-skid patterns and the wide sidedecks insure safe passage to the bow.
