Silverton Yachts, founded in the late 1960s in New Jersey, established a reputation for building comfortable, spacious, and affordable mid-size cruisers, convertibles, and motor yachts. One of their more popular models was the 422 Motor Yacht. The Silverton 422 MY, produced from 1996 to 2001, was a popular entry-level aft-cabin cruiser, lauded for maximizing interior volume and offering high-value features for its size. It was well-regarded for a spacious two-stateroom layout, comfortable, bright salon, and innovative steps to the bridge and swim platform, making it a favorite for families and liveaboard cruising. Often considered an excellent choice for entertaining, complete with a wet bar and large aft deck, the 422 MY was also known for comfortable, stable, and straightforward handling in rough seas.
