2009 Sabre
"First Sight"
IMMACULATE! 2009 Sabre 386
Overview
Excellent opportunity to buy one of the final sailboats manufactured by Sabre Yacht. This Jim Taylor* design was named the Cruising World Boat of the Year in 2005. "First Sight" was launched and commissioned by Handy Boat in Falmouth, Maine in 2009 and has been exclusively sailed seasonally along the coast of Maine.
The Sabre 386 was deigned by renowned racing boat designer Jim Taylor and built to the highest standards by Sabre Yachts in Raymond, Maine. This particular boat was conceive to put a priority on performance and she is an absolute delight to sail.
Construction included a cored hull and is only one of a handful of 386s with resin-infused vacuum-sealed deck
"First Sight" has been yard maintained since new and stored indoors all but two seasons. Teak toe rails sanded, prepped and varnished every year. Sails and canvas washed and inspected every year. Handy Boat has performed all commissioning and decommissioning requirements every season and all repairs as needed. This is a rare Sabre 386 in turn key condition and is ready for her next adventures.
The current owners will offer a “yacht delivery experience” and orientation to the new owners (pending location).
"First Sight" has been spectacularly well maintained. I can guarantee you will not find a boat of this type and vintage which presents as close to "brand new" as this one. From the flawless gel coat to the perfectly finished cherry joinery to the bilges look like the boat just came out of the mold, this boat is impeccable. Even the keel bolts and back-up plates are perfectly shiny polished stainless steel.

Builder's Description
Sabre's attention to detail is well known. Whether it be the style and grace of her shear, the intricate details of a deck tooling blending comfort, safety and good looks, or the details found in the hand crafted interior joinery, Sabre Yachts stands alone in quality and reputation.
The Sabre 386 embraces the standards which have put Sabre's name atop the quality spectrum of boatbuilding for the last 35 years. Current Sabre owners and those who have followed the brand over time, will see details here which make it feel familiar. Details which make sense, which add to comfort, security and well being. Logical details that, above all, make each Sabre design a great, safe and beautiful sailboat.
But details from the past are just part of the story. Keeping up with technology has to go hand in hand with our desire to build the finest possible sailing yachts for our clients. The Sabre 386 hull is built using vacuum bagged, closed cell, cross linked PVC Divinycell foam and structural E Glass, which gives her one of the strongest, lightest, most durable structures available today. Her deck is also cored with Divinycell.
Hull lines, underwater appendages and rigs were drawn by Jim Taylor Yacht Design. The deck, deck styling and interior were accomplished by the Sabre Design Team. The result is a yacht which, like her siblings, will establish a benchmark in sailing that will endure for many years to come.
