Overview
2015 Sea Ray L650
Professional photography and video are coming soon. Current images include preliminary exterior photos of the actual vessel, along with select stock images of this exact Sea Ray L650 model for reference.
Asking $1,800,000 CAD, approximately $1,299,000 USD based on the current exchange rate and subject to currency fluctuations.
This 2015 Sea Ray L650 is the non-flybridge version, which gives her a lower, cleaner profile while still offering the space and accommodation you would expect from a well designed 65-foot motor yacht.
She is powered by twin Caterpillar C18A diesels producing 1,150 hp each, with approximately 560 hours, and conventional shaft drives.
For me, that is one of the strongest parts of this boat.
The C18 is a well-known big-boat engine, and having conventional shafts keeps the propulsion system straightforward. At the same time, Sea Ray added an inboard joystick docking system, multi-station controls and a separate cockpit docking station, so you still get the advantage of modern close-quarters handling when you're moving a 65-foot boat around the marina.
The generator is a 21.5 kW diesel unit with approximately 300 hours. She is also equipped with an inverter, ISO Boost shore-power transformer, desalinator/watermaker and an oil-change system servicing the engines, transmissions and generator.
Four staterooms plus crew quarters
The interior layout is a big reason these L650s work so well.
There are four proper private staterooms plus separate crew quarters.
The full-beam master is amidships and takes advantage of the boat's 17'2" beam, with large hull-side windows, ensuite head, plenty of storage, a private safe and a separate mini dinette.
That little dinette is actually a great feature. It gives the master another usable area rather than having the whole cabin built around the bed.
Forward is the VIP stateroom, with separate port and starboard guest cabins completing the four-cabin layout. Opening portlights were optioned in the forward, port and starboard staterooms as well.
For families or owners who regularly cruise with guests, having four actual cabins instead of relying on convertible salon seating makes a noticeable difference.
Heavily optioned interior
This boat received a significant number of interior upgrades when she was ordered.
She has Sea Ray's Interior Package B with Walnut Matte cabinetry, walnut wood blinds and upgraded carpets and finishes.
There were also additional custom fabric, carpet and countertop packages selected, custom double stitching throughout the upholstery and upgraded wood flooring with matching trim and steps.
The salon, dinette, helm, master, forward VIP and guest cabins all received individually selected upholstery and fabric packages.
There is quite a bit more detail to the interior specification than you normally see on a standard production build.
Main deck and galley
The non-flybridge L650 has a large opening roof over the main salon, which lets you open the main deck up when the weather is good without giving up the protection and comfort of an enclosed yacht.
The galley is well equipped with a dishwasher, wine cooler, water purification system serving the galley and ice makers, along with dedicated china storage.
Between the large windows, open layout and walnut interior, the main deck feels much more like a proper yacht salon than a traditional express cruiser.
Aft cockpit
The cockpit is another area where this boat was well optioned.
It has teak flooring, a high-gloss teak cockpit table, built-in grill and an electric retractable awning.
That gives you a proper outside dining and entertaining space with shade when you want it and an open cockpit when you don't.
The separate cockpit docking controls are also located where they are actually useful when backing into a slip or working alongside a dock.
Foredeck entertaining area
There is another completely separate seating area forward.
The bow has dedicated foredeck seating, its own audio system and a high-gloss teak table.
On a boat this size, having usable spaces at both ends of the yacht matters. People aren't all forced into one cockpit or salon. Guests can spread out between the bow, main salon and aft cockpit.
Hydraulic swim platform
The hydraulic swim platform adds another very useful part of the boat.
Besides making boarding and swimming considerably easier, it gives you the ability to carry and launch a tender without giving up the cockpit or foredeck.
Separate crew quarters are located aft as well.
Helm and electronics
The lower helm received upgraded Raymarine electronics including the GS165 display upgrade, CP300 fishfinder integration and Raymarine network cameras covering the cockpit and bilge areas.
She also has the inboard joystick docking system, multi-station docking and cockpit controls.

The L650 is a lot of boat.
At 65'1" overall with a 17'2" beam, you get real interior volume, four private cabins, separate crew accommodation and several different places for people to spend time onboard.
What makes this particular boat stand out is the combination of low-hour Caterpillar C18 power, conventional shafts, joystick docking, a strong factory option list and a layout that is genuinely usable for extended cruising.
There is plenty of technology onboard, but underneath it you still have a straightforward Caterpillar and shaft-drive yacht.
For someone looking for a larger cruising boat that can accommodate family and friends properly, entertain comfortably and still be manageable around the dock, there is a lot here to work with.
